Long cowl is knitted in-the-round using a double-moss stitch and includes specific instructions on a great modified stretchy bind off.
 
Easy enough for beginners assuming the following skillset:
Cast on
Knit and Purl
Yarn over (for bind off)
Bind off stitches
Knit in the round

Chunky yarn (or worsted and finer weight held together)
18” to 24’ circular needles, US Size 11 (8mm)
